The RRTC’s website is a major international internet resource for information on intellectual and developmental disabilities for researchers, service providers, policy makers, advocacy organizations, consumers, families, students and the general public. The website is the first hit on the major search engines when searching the keywords aging developmental disabilities. The National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) has developed a large compendium of text and video resources for promoting physical activity and nutrition for various ages and disability groups including adults with ID. The website features adaptations to standard exercise that allows children and adults with ID and various ranges of physical and cognitive limitations achieve a healthy and active lifestyle. The full-time staff in the Center has expertise in nutrition, obesity, and physical activity. From 2009 thru 2013, the RRTC website had 179,105 visits to various pages. The online publication list contains the RRTC’s research reports, journal articles and practical applications based on the research including training curricula, research briefs, fact sheets, and bibliographies. Many items can be downloaded at no cost. Since 1999, NCHPAD has had over 65 million web hits, nearly 5 million unique visitors and more than 15,000 one-on-one personal contacts with people with disabilities.
