Director of the Great Lakes Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center
Robin Jones is an Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Director of the Great Lakes ADA and Accessible IT Center where she has served since its inception over 14 years ago. Formerly, she served as director of an independent living center in the Chicago area and as an occupational therapy practitioner at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
She has extensive experience assisting businesses and government to meet their obligations under the ADA and is recognized as a key resource regarding ADA compliance and how it interfaces with other federal legislation. She has extensive experience addressing how the environment creates both barriers and opportunities for people with disabilities. Her research interests are Disability Policy Issues including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Housing, Transportation, Community Participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in decision making processes.
